People smoke for many different reasons. I have treated plenty of personalities who want to quit smoking, and they are all different! The genetic, or so called addictive personality argument doesn't fit my experience. Most become non smokers and stay smoke free after treatment.
Smoking can give the illusion of relaxation while in reality, great stress is added to the body-mind system. The good news is: you can learn how to quit smoking, stop craving cigarettes and start living. Quit smoking counselling, hypnotherapy and NLP are available in our Brighton clinic. How long will treatment take?
That depends how willing you are to work through the issues. My approach is psychological in nature and natural, thereby does not involve medication. However, people are frequently referred by their doctors for help to quit smoking and both approaches can work well together. Usually a good fit with hypnotherapy and counselling helps people quit smoking for the long term, depending on their motivation. To ensure value for money, please mindfully ask yourself right now what will it cost you not to stop smoking?
It may take only a few sessions for you to resolve your smoking habit. However more regular sessions for long term results may be indicated, until you have things under control, at which point we can space out frequency of sessions and then discontinue. It's difficult to predict how long people will take to resolve their smoking problems. We will gain a better idea of this when we begin working together.
